A holy island,
shaped like the scared Hindu symbol 'om'. Here the Narmada and the Kaveri rivers
meet and the pilgrims gathers at the confluence in a large numbers of pay
obeisance before the Jyotirlinga (one of the 12 Jyotirlingas) at the temple of
Shri Omkar Mandahata. This island comprises
two lofty hills and is divided by a valley in such a way that it appears in the shape
of the sacred Hindu symbol 'Om' from above.
The best to visit is October to
March.
